| Virgin Money Edinburgh Festival Fireworks 2017 from Blackford Hill |
Monday 28th August 2017. The Edinburgh International Festival closes each year with a spectacular fireworks display from Edinburgh Castle over 45 minutes. It is timed with a clasical concert played live by an orchestra in Princes Street Gardens.
I picked Blackford Hill looking onto rear of Edinburgh Castle for my photography and to keep south of the forecast east direction firework smoke would head for. It is unfortunate that the castle is put into darkness for the display. I banked a shot at end of display when castle was lit again. I then blended it into the fireworks shots. Each are one burst of a few seconds in length and not merged fireworks images. Here are some of the images I captured. A few at foot of page with castle unlit. |
