18th April 2023 - Dunrobin Castle in Golspie in the Highlands of the North of Scotland is just beautiful. It is the historic home of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland.
The earlier parts of the building dates from around 1275 and has a number of later extensions.
I watched the weather forcast for a day of blue sky in early spring. I got it. Drove 4 hours, 212 miles to get there for 10.30am opening time.
My plan was to photograph the Castle Gardens and the Castle. Delighted with the images I got.
The Castle and gardens are open April to October. Falconry displays in Gardens 11.30am and 2.30pm daily.
Post code for the Castle is KW10 6SF for satnav. You can park for free at Castle front.
A tip if you want to photograph the gardens with few people in images. Take photos whilst the Falconry Display is on. Most visitors head to that area for 30 minutes or so. I took photos whilst display on in morning.
Here are 30 images before I headed to my second photography location of the day The Old Packhorse Bridge at Carrbridge. |
