Takes me back to my childhood days. St Margaret's Rose window information "..Great credit must, however, be given to Fr. Carden for the installation of the memorial Rose Window to Bishop James Maguire in 1947 (born in Loanhead on 29th August 1882). This magnificent window of excellent design and colour scheme was the work of Edinburgh stained glass artist Mr. McGourty..". St Margaret's rose window shows Queen Margaret of Scotland /St Margaret . I have loved this window since my childhood days. The metalwork below the altar in one image are the original gates to the altar area that were in position for many early years before church was modernised after vatican two in the late 1960s early 1970s if my memory is correct for the date. The two bottom images of more modern stain glass windows are dedicated to the Venerable Margaret Sinclair and to local industry in Loanhead.
