| Edinburgh Tattoo Fireworks - August 2013 |
Saturday 10th August 2013. Took myself into Edinburgh for the midnight fireworks display at end of the late Saturday night Edinburgh Tattoo. I positioned myself in Princes Street overlooking gardens.
Used a tripod, wireless release and a long shutter speed to capture a few bursts of fireworks in one shot.
All the burst were one after another, but because shutter was open they all show up as if together in a crowded skyline.
Maybe should have shown a bit more of castle at foot of image but it was mostly in darkness so I went for high space.
I have the full image as an 11mb jpeg. It is reduced here for onscreen viewing size. Hope it looks as good as full images does to me. |
Monday 12th August 2013. A second visit to photograph Edinburgh Tattoo fireworks. Cracking display tonight. Got me thinking that something cut Saturday's display short - as it was nowhere near as good.
Below are a few new images from 12th August - plus a multi one I merged on PC.

| Tuesday 13th August 2013 - went back again for more fireworks. Got some nice images - including the big burst I was too close zoomed into on 12th and missed it. |

| Friday 16th August 2013 - Another visit for more fireworks. A few different images again this time round. |
| |
| Monday 19th August 2013 - This time visited Calton Hill, which overlooks Princes Street and Edinburgh City Centre. Ideal location for wide view of fireworks including a few landmarks. Going back there to try even wider views before Tattoo finishes on 24th. |

| Wednesday 21st August 2013 - Back to Calton Hill, which overlooks Princes Street and Edinburgh City Centre. Tried good lens turned as portrait position. To give more height for the big bursts of fireworks at start and end - got them !!! |
