Thursday 15th June 2023. I took a boat trip from Anstruther, Fife, to The Isle of May in the Firth of Forth with friends.
Plan was to photograph Puffins and other seabirds. You have to book it weeks in advance as it a very popular trip.
It was a super day. Photographing Puffins in flight is very difficult. They are very small and fly very fast. Darting to avoid the gulls. Many have Sandeels in their beaks and taking them back to young in their burrows.
I used my Canon 1dx MkII Camera with the Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS II USM Lens
Out of many attempts to photograph the Puffins in flight, I saved 11 images. Some are sharper than others. Took a while to get my eye in and a method of photographing the very fast Puffins in flight. |
