Joe Gilhooley LRPS   European Badgers Reflections   Wednesday 22nd June 2022 I spent over 6 hours in Ron McCombe's terrific wildlife hide in Scottish Borders. My 10th visit to the badger hide since October 2020. Ron has set it up to bring European Badgers to the area. Takes patience as badgers can come at any time. Their sense of hearing is acute so you have to keep very still and quiet. Well worth contacting Ron McCombe and booking a slot. Or in his wildbirds hide. Both hides are heated and Ron gives very useful photography assistance. With in being middle of June, the weather was warmer. Cubs were also coming to the area. Less darkness meant visits were more often and nearer together. Ron now has a reflection pool right in front of the photography hide. Badgers are showing an interest in it, makes super photographs with badger's reflection in the water. I was thrilled when after a few hours the badgers came to the pool and I got my most wanted Badger Reflections. There is also a large hollow log that the badgers are coming through. For this visit. I used my Canon 1dx MkII Camera. Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 L IS II USM Lens. I also got images of the fox at reflection pool 33 images on this page.
